International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People Marked

The Embassy of the State of Palestine and The Palestinian Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina officially marked the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People at the United Nations House in Sarajevo, on 06 December 2016.

On this occasion, observed internationally since 1977, the UN Resident Coordinator in BiH, Ms Sezin Sinanoglu, and the Ambassador of the State of Palestine, Mr. Riziq N.M. Nammourah reminded and reaffirmed the need for a joint commitment to upholding the rights of the Palestinian people and working to build a future of peace, justice, security and dignity.  

Mr. Majed Maroouf, president of the Palestinian Community in BiH, and Mr. Avdo Hebib, president of the Bosnian-Palestinian Friendship Association, emphasized in their speeches the continuous struggle that the Palestinian people still experience, and the bonds that exist between the people of the two countries.

The event was organized around reflections on the background and significance of the International Day of Solidarity, the state of the Palestinian people and prospects for reconciliation, with Mr. Gradimir Gojer, Mr. Hajrudin Somun and Mr. Zlatko Dizdarevic as speakers.
